Dear UBC Alumni, Student Parents & Supporters,
It is with tremendous excitement that we announce the Chabad at UBC Alumni Chai Club.
For everyone who enjoyed Shabbat celebrations, Rabbi Chalom & Esti’s famous Friday night dinners, or Torah study programs, Chabad became a true "home away from home." Those experiences and friendships have left a lasting impact—and now, we want to ensure future students enjoy that same vibrant Jewish life on campus.
Did you know that each Chabad House is entirely self-funded? While we are part of a global network, Rabbi Chalom and Esti are independently responsible for raising the $200,000 annual budget required to run Chabad at UBC. As proud alumni and supporters, you have the power to sustain this vital work.
In Hebrew, Chai means life and carries the numerical value of 18. By joining the Chai Club, you commit to a recurring monthly gift in multiples of $18.
You can start with just $36 a month - less than the cost of a few coffees a month. If just 100 alumni commit to $36 a month, we will raise $36,000 annually to secure Chabad's future.
As you grow in your professional life, your support becomes critical. If Chabad has touched your life; in the past or currently in any which way, you can help us make a difference for the next generation of Jewish students. Plus, as a Chai Club member, you'll stay connected through our bi-annual newsletter and invitations to exclusive alumni reunions.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued friendship, partnership, and support!
