The Chabad Jewish Student Center at the University of British Columbia is committed to providing wonderful and enriching programs to all, as the Foundation for Jewish life. Our vitality and continued growth is made possible only by the support we receive from parents, friends and partners like you.
Chabad at UBC does not charge annual membership or any fees for any student programming! We believe in an open-door policy, where everyone is welcome regardless of affiliation, background or financial status. Yet, we still have bills to pay.
A crucial element of support for Chabad's work comes from hard-working individuals who commit to a monthly contribution. These monthly donations add up and make a great difference in covering Chabad's operational budget. As the Talmud says “Each and every penny adds up to a large amount”.
Any amount you give has a tremendous impact! This is simple math: Ten people giving $36 per month (about 120 cents daily) is $360 per month. Over twelve months that is $4320. Now if we had ten donors at $180 per month and ten donors at $108 per month and ten donors at $72 per month and ten donors at $54 per month and ten donors at $36 per month, that would mean 50 donors are contributing $54,000 annually! Add another 50 donors and it's $108,000 annually! The exponential growth potential is amazing.
This is a great opportunity to give Tzedakah (charity), give us the ability to continue all the wonderful work that we do, and join a group of wonderful individuals committed to the financial support and success of Chabad at UBC!
Thank G‑d, Chabad has grown, and our budget has grown. We are now running a Weekly Shabbat Student dinners, Shabbat services, several weekly classes, monthly programs geared around Jewish Holidays and list goes on.
We pride ourselves in operating an extremely lean organization and stretching every dollar. But still, we do not receive any monetary support from the local or central Chabad Headquarters. We depend entirely on donors like you!
